Hemp butter/ coconut oil:
Basic equipment
Coffee grinder (electric or grandma’s) to finely grind the dried hemp.
Cheesecloth (cheesecloth/dishcloth)
bowls
Leisure, patience, joy and imagination
Ingredients
1/2l water
250g Butter/ Coconut fat
50 grams of dried hemp
Bring the water to a boil in a pot. Add butter/coconut oil and dried hemp. Now reduce the heat to low. Simmer for about 1 hour, stirring frequently. If the contents of the pot become too thick, add a little more water.
After this hour, pour the mixture through cheesecloth (cheesecloth/dishcloth) into a bowl and squeeze thoroughly to ensure none of the valuable oil is lost. Then refrigerate the bowl for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the butter/coconut oil to separate from the water. The next day, remove the hemp coconut oil/butter from the surface and store it in a cool place. Freezing is the best way to store this.
Hemp butter or hemp blossom coconut oil are not only suitable as a spread or mixed with salt and fresh garden herbs on any meat dish. Both make an ideal base, especially for chocolate-flavored baked goods. We also highly recommend trying them with vanilla crescents or shortcrust pastries. Prepare to be amazed! There are no limits to your imagination and creativity with this valuable raw material.
